As a Business Analyst, you will work with end-users and software developers, drawing on superior business process skills and a comprehensive understanding of systems, to align use cases with technology.
Responsibilities:
- Define and analyze current state of business processes and systems
- Identify probable solutions in conjunction with business users and software team lead
- Create functional specifications for identified projects
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of individual projects in order to define success criteria
- Prepare and execute detailed test cases based on business and functional requirements, ensuring sufficient coverage and correctness
- Test new application systems and software programs
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modifications and new solutions
- Provide post-implementation support and support training end users
- Participate in the definition and rollout of IT Standards, Methodologies, and “best practices”
Expected Outcomes:
- Create, maintain and manage an Issues database for each project
- Design test template for projects and formalize the project testing process
- Identify tools to achieve automated web testing capability and monitor website performance status
- Propose and lead quick-win website modifications to achieve 30% to 50% performance improvements
- Assist in identifying and implementing companywide project and work-flow management tool
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3 -4 years business experience including 2 years as a business analyst
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact with business users in plain (non-technical) language
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven experience in identifying root cause of business problems through rigorous requirement definition techniques
- High levels of integrity and a commitment to do what you say you are going to do
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn and continuously improve
- Results oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and orientation to deadlines
- Well-developed project management skills
- Experience with SDLC methodologies and writing functional and system requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft .Net technologies, C#, MS SQL an asset
- Knowledge of web technologies such as PHP, Python, My SQL an asset
- Post-secondary degree in Information Technology Systems or Business or relevant field
