Reporting to the Global Logistics Manager, your task is to coordinate the import and delivery of inventory to our warehouse facilities around North America.  The Ocean Logistics Coordinator will look for new and innovative ways to continue disrupting supply chain methodology to deliver exceptional service.

 

Responsibilities:  

• Efficiently coordinate ocean import operations
• Create freight quotes and pay invoices
• Coordinate Import documentation and import customs clearance
• Maintain and ensure C-TPAT compliance
• Assist in the design and implementation of global online tracking and inventory system.
• Assist in contract negotiations with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
• Assist in the implementation of harmonized Tariff codes

Expected Outcomes:

• Grow top line revenue from 2m in 2012 to 5m in 2013
• Achieve greater than 90% customer feedback satisfaction
• Exceed 7% net margin for global transportation division for 2013
• Secure FTZ consolidation warehouse/service in China
• Implement container sharing rate plan for vendor’s inventory

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics industry. Steamship experience and container exams an asset
• Understanding of US and Canadian Customs regulations and procedures, including tariff codes and duty rates
• Working knowledge of steamship and/or forwarder contracts
• Ability to excel in a fast paced team oriented environment
• Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit
• High levels of integrity and a commitment to do what you say you are going to do
• A desire to learn and continuously improve
• Degree in supply chain logistics or related field
